The music ended, and Alex Cleland escorted Amanda back to their table. He picked up a bottle of wine and poured them each a glass.
Amanda sipped, disguising her distaste for the liquid. Give her a beer any day!
It had been an enjoyable evening, thought Amanda. The dinner they had eaten was superb, and so was the conversation. Cleland knew all about the Bimini Islands, as well as the rest of the Bahamas, and they had talked about their favorite dive sites and their favorite restaurants and night spots on each of the islands.
Robert Wade had contributed little to the conversation - he seemed content to sit back and let the girls have center stage. But his presence had reminded the three girls not to get too carried away and talk about their purpose for being in Palau. He had primed them with their cover story when they first arrived in Palau, as he didn't want anyone to know about the plans to re-create the sunken ships and planes off Florida until the building portion of that new resort was well under way.
In his stateroom, Robert Wade poured himself another drink. What was Cleland after, he wondered.
And what was Amanda doing on deck with him...right now?
