The Gambler Part II, redux

Since it's been so long since I posted this chapter, I'm reposting it. The next chapter in the series appears Wednesday!
What was it about human attraction, Amanda Sutton thought as she sat opposite Alex Cleland, gazing into his eyes...but only because he was gazing so deeply in to hers.

Men had two types of physiques, she mused to herself. (Well, people did, but she was only interested in men's physiques!)

They were either square or rectangular - square faces or long narrow faces, square bodies or long, slender bodies. Like... like William Shatner's Captain Kirk and Leonard Nimoy's Mr. Spock. Although that TV show was over 40 years old, it still had an enormous following - of which she was one. And so she knew that many women liked the slenderness of Mr. Spock, whereas she had never found that look attractive. Wlliam Shatner's Captain Kirk, on the other hand...whoah baby!

And Alex Cleland definitely had a Captain Kirk type of face, and body. Well muscled, well taken care of...and his face...everything in just the right proportion, very handsome.

Alex Cleland, for his part, was fascinated by women who were tall, with small breasts and slender hips, with the musculature of a lifelong athlete, topped by a beautiful face. But it was always the body that first attracted him...

"I wonder," he said aloud, "If you, and your sisters, and of course Mr. Wade, would care to dine with me on my yacht one evening soon."
